About Purrfect-Comfort

Purrfect-Comfort is a manufacturer of Cat Condos and Colonies, serving Animal Shelters and SPCA organizations for over 18 years! Thomas Vaughan identified a need to improve the comfort of cats living at animal shelters.
Thomas Vaughan, owner of Purrfect-Comfort, is involved with shelters and SPCA facilities accross America. Tom finishes a job with a feeling of purpose in life by helping the feline population.


1974: Provided service to small contractors remodeling and home building mom and pop organizations.

1976: Move to larger company in Southern New Hampshire with 12 fellow employees. Watched company grow to 100 + employees. Started as Rough Carpenter; moved up to Supervisor of Finished Work Department.

1983: Started Quality Carpentry. Registered trade name with State of NH. Provided services to local builders in Bedford, NH and surrounding areas with high end finish work, molding manufacturing, forming stairways, remodeling, and additions.

1989: Provide services to large institutional distributor of commercial casework. Performed installations at schools, colleges, and libraries around New England.

1993: Started remodeling projects with world renowned architect, Stephen Jensen, of Blue Sky Collaborative Architecture. Performed mall fit-ups, residential projects, auto dealerships, and veterinary clinics.

1995: Started animal shelter work with first Cat Colony room at Rowly Memorial Hospital (MSPCA) Springfield, MA with climbing poles, stairways, and furniture.

1997-1998: Monadnock Humane Society, Swanzey-Keene-NH - 1st full-scale Colony rooms with climbing apparatus and walkways/ rampways. First Cat Condos with stainless steel gates and plexi-glass windows.

1999: NHSPCA Feline Rooms - Built litter box units and casework.

2001: CAVES (Capital Area Veterinary Emergency Services) - 1st 24/7 Veterinary Emergency Care Facility in NH. Provided all onsite supervision and installation of casework and detailing.

2002: Detroit SPCA - As Seen On Animal Planet! Built 2 large colonies, 2 spiral stairs, and elevated purple walkways, all in front of a glassed wall.

2004: MSPCA at Nevins Farm, Methuen, MA - Built 2 large Colony rooms, 2 porches with apparatus, 1st ceiling suspended walkways, 12 Cat Condos in front of glassed wall, arched storefront, spiral stairs, hanging sleeping boxes, mailboxes, and resting areas.

2006: MSPCA at Angell Memorial Hospital, Boston, MA - Built 2 large Colony rooms, 4 spiral stairs, suspended walkways with elevation changes, and 15 Cat Condos (corner designed units with 30in doors).

2007: Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, West Windsor, VT - Built 2 large Colony rooms with spiral stairways, suspended walkways, and beautiful pastel colors.

2007-2008: Pet Helpers, Charleston, SC - Built 4 Cat Colonies, 6 spiral stairs, suspended walkways and stairways, and resting shelves at windows. Built 16 Cat Condos (new style with updated door look). Condos were 30in x 30in x 96in stationary units that included architectural designed features and colors.

2008: Purrfect-Comfort establishes their first website.
